CapyBro

Use case

CapyBro for writers and creators

Rewrite, retune, shorten, and expand your drafts in whatever app you write in — with prompts you define.

Writers don't all live in one tool. You might draft in Scrivener, outline in Notion, publish in WordPress, and answer clients in email. CapyBro brings AI editing to a global hotkey that works in all of them: select a sentence or a whole section, then rewrite it, shift the tone, tighten it, expand it, or generate alternatives — in place, without breaking flow. Custom prompts let you save your own voice and transforms, and multilingual support means you can write and edit in more than one language from the same setup.

How writers and creators use it

Shift tone on demand

Same idea, different register. Select a passage and run "make this warmer and more casual" or "make this crisp and professional". Great for adapting one draft into a newsletter, a LinkedIn post, and a formal email.

Tighten or expand

Cut a bloated paragraph down to its core with a "shorten by half, keep the key point" prompt, or expand a thin bullet into a full paragraph. Works on a sentence or a whole section.

Generate headline and hook variants

Select your working title and ask for ten alternative headlines, or a few opening hooks from different angles. A fast way to break a blank-page stall and A/B your own ideas.

Edit anywhere you publish

The hotkey fires in Scrivener, Notion, Obsidian, the WordPress editor, Google Docs in the browser, Substack, and your email client. One editing workflow across every surface you write on — no per-app plugin to install.

Prompt recipes for writers

Build your own voice once in Settings → Prompts, then trigger from the prompt menu (Ctrl+Shift+Q).

Make it warmer

Rewrite the selected text in a warmer, more conversational tone while keeping the meaning and length similar. Keep the original language.

Make it professional

Rewrite the selected text in a crisp, professional tone. Remove filler, keep it confident and clear. Keep the original language.

Shorten by half

Cut the selected text to roughly half its length while keeping the key message and a natural flow. Keep the original language.

Ten headlines

Based on the selected text, write 10 alternative headline options in varied styles: some direct, some curiosity-driven, some benefit-led. Keep the original language.

Writer FAQ

Does CapyBro work in Scrivener, Notion, and WordPress?

Yes. Because it uses a system-wide hotkey and the clipboard, CapyBro works in Scrivener, Notion, Obsidian, the WordPress block editor, Substack, Google Docs in the browser, and your email client — anywhere you can select and paste text. No per-app plugin needed.

Can I keep my own writing voice?

Yes — that's what custom prompts are for. Write prompts that describe your tone ("rewrite in my plain, direct voice, short sentences, no clichés") and reuse them everywhere. You can keep a whole library of them and pin a model to each.

Can it work in more than one language?

Yes. The AI edits in any language your chosen model supports, and a "keep the original language" flag stops it from translating between languages by accident. Handy if you create content in two languages.

Is my draft sent to a cloud server?

Only if you use OpenRouter mode, and only the text you select for that one request — there's zero telemetry otherwise. If you'd rather keep unpublished work entirely private, use Ollama mode and nothing leaves your computer.
