CapyBro

Privacy policy

Short version

CapyBro is a local Windows program that processes your text. I (a single developer) have no servers and collect no data about you.

What's stored on your computer

  • Your settings (UI language, hotkeys, AI provider).
  • Your OpenRouter API key — encrypted via Windows DPAPI. Only your Windows user can decrypt it.
  • History of the last 50 operations (before / after text) — in the file ~/.ai_text_improver_v2_history.json in your home folder.

None of this data is sent to me or any third party.

What happens to your text

In OpenRouter mode: the text is sent to OpenRouter servers for AI processing. See their privacy policy at openrouter.ai/privacy.

In Ollama mode: the text is processed locally on your computer. Zero network transmission.

Analytics and tracking

The CapyBro app doesn't use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, or any other user-tracking system, and doesn't «phone home».

Exception (for Pro users): if you activate a Pro license, the program checks the key's validity through Gumroad once every 30 days. Only the key is sent, no other data.

Cookies and analytics on this site

This site (capybro.app) uses Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool. It counts visits and page views without setting any cookies, without tracking you across sites, and without collecting any personal data. That's the only analytics on the site.
